Police: 1 dead, 3 others injured in Highbridge apartment fire

FDNY officials say they believe the fatal fire started in the kitchen of an apartment building in Highbridge.

One person is dead after another fire swept through a high-rise building in Highbridge Monday night, according to police.
Fire officials say the fire was on the 24th floor of the building at 1133 Ogden Ave.
The fire brought more than 100 firefighters and EMTs to the neighborhood. The FDNY was able to get it under control in a little less than an hour.
A 45-year-old man was found unconscious and transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead, police say. Three other members of the man's family, a 46-year-old woman, a 15-year-old boy and an 11-month-old boy, were injured as well but are in stable condition.
It's unclear how the fire started, but officials believe it started in the kitchen.
