FDNY: 4 people, including child, in critical condition following Sunset Park apartment fire

The FDNY responded to the fire on 45th Street at around 11 p.m. Fire officials say that they found heavy fire on the second floor of the building.

A fire at a Sunset Park apartment late Friday left four people, including a child, in critical condition, officials say.
The FDNY responded to the fire on 45th Street at around 11 p.m. Fire officials say that they found heavy fire on the second floor of the building.
News 12 is told a child in cardiac arrest was removed to the street and transported to the hospital.
Officials also removed multiple victims from the top floor of the building.
In total, 16 people suffered injuries. Four of those injuries are considered serious and life-threatening.
The FDNY says 60 of its members got the fire under control in 45 minutes. There were no injuries to any firefighters.
The FDNY says they are investigating what sparked the blaze.
