FDNY: Discarded smoking materials, faulty fire alarm caused fatal fire on Valentine Avenue
FDNY Fire Marshals revealed Wednesday the cause of the four-alarm fire on Valentine Avenue.
Fire officials say the fire started due to "careless discard of smoking materials and a faulty smoke alarm."
At least six people and three firefighters were reported to suffer minor injuries. At least one woman was found dead on the first floor of the building, according to the FDNY.
