FDNY mourns loss of EMT who died of cardiac arrest at 911 dispatch center

The FDNY says Frederick Whiteside was a 22-year veteran of the department.

The FDNY announced that a 43-year-old EMT died Friday after going into cardiac arrest at a 911 dispatch center in the Bronx.
The FDNY says Frederick Whiteside was a 22-year veteran of the department.
He was appointed to the force in April of 2002 and spent his career working in both the Bronx and Brooklyn.
