22h agoA steam leak at a building in Melrose Saturday night left eight people hospitalized, according to the FDNY.
Fire officials say they responded to a report of an unknown order making people sick at 830 Elton Avenue near 156th Street.
Crews shut down the boiler and began the process of venting the building out.
EMS then went to the scene to treat the eight sick individuals and bring them to Lincoln Hospital.
Fire officials also requested support from the Department of Environmental Protection.
