A Catholic school teachers union has called off its strike against the New York Archdiocese. The Federation of Catholic Teachers agreed to end its strike in the Bronx and the rest of the city after it said it had a good-faith negotiating session with the archdiocese Monday.The teachers are working without a contract and said they are demanding better wages and health care benefits.Another union, the Lay Faculty Association, said it still intends to protest when Pope Benedict XVI visits New York. The pope is scheduled to be in the state April 18 - April 20.Teachers strike at 4 Bronx Catholic schools
