On Saturday, Gianna Caranfa will showcase her new shop - Bee Inked.
The 28-year-old found tattooing after earning her masters at SUNY Purchase.
She pivoted from a teaching career to inking art,- a field where women make up only a quarter of the tattoo artist workforce. She is encouraging more women to pursue the field. “It’s hard for women to get a start because no one takes you seriously in this field. But if you know this is what you love, you just keep fighting through it," says Caranfa.
Bee Inked is now open and by appointment only.
