Rain will be light to moderate between 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, with isolated showers and drizzle into the evening. Up to a half inch of rain is expected with this first storm. While no one single storm will be a major one, the timing with holiday travel will be less than ideal.
An isolated shower or two can't be ruled out Sunday morning with a surge of warmer weather, with temperatures soaring to near 60 degrees by the afternoon. The next storm arrives Sunday night and will likely impact the Monday morning commute with a potential line of thunderstorms. It will still be mild but not as warm on Monday and Tuesday with highs in the 50s. The third storm in this parade of storms arrives as the ball drops on Tuesday night with more rain that continues into the first half of Wednesday.
Up to 2 inches of rain is expected from the combination of the three storms, impacting travel, especially the Monday morning commute.
Behind the parade of storms, there will be a massive arctic blast into the first weekend of 2025 that could set the stage for more significant snow opportunities.
