The jury selection for the trial of Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes is kicking off in California today. Holmes is facing 10 counts of wire fraud and two counts of conspiracy surrounding the disgraced blood testing startup, which was once worth $9 billion. Prosecutors say Holmes swindled hundreds of millions of dollars from investors and put thousands of lives at risk, and she could be facing up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
Fidelity investments is currently looking to hire 9,000 employees as part of their third hiring push in the last year. The brokerage firm looking to keep pace with the spike in stock-trading and keep up with other personal-investing services. Millions of new investors, a large chunk of them young adults, have congregated to platforms like Fidelity and Robinhood as the stock market continues to reach record highs in 2021.
Apple is reportedly delaying production of its latest Apple Watch model due to manufacturing issues. According to Nikkei Asia, the tech company experienced disappointing results after final production due to a newer, more complicated design. The new model will come equipped with a blood-pressure sensor and water-resistance features.
