Firefighters were on scene battling a two-alarm blaze that broke out in a Marble Hill apartment building Thursday.
The FDNY says it responded to 18 Jacobus Place just before 2 p.m.
Crews battled flames on the top floor of the six-story building. Fire officials say the fire spread to the space between the building's uppermost ceiling and its roof.
The blaze was contained in just under 45 minutes, and no one was injured.
The Red Cross says it registered two households, including two children and five adults, for emergency assistance.
