More COVID-19 vaccinations were given at NYC Health and Hospitals Lincoln Monday.
Nurse Melanie Weintraub has a brighter story to tell after months on the front lines of the pandemic.
Weintraub is one of dozens of health care workers who received their first dose of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine.
"I think it's very important that we get as many people vaccinated as we can, so we prevent future surges of the virus like we saw and seen already," she said.
According to the mayor's office, 18,000 New Yorkers have already been vaccinated.
Weintraub says she hopes her bold step will encourage others to get vaccinated.
