A massive sinkhole on one of the busiest streets in the Bronx that has been reportedly growing since the spring is only getting worse, residents say.
Cones line the street at 193rd Street and Grand Concourse to warn drivers and pedestrians of the sinkhole. News 12 is told the cones weren't placed by city officials.
Resident Sydney Flores says he first reported the sinkhole to the city in the spring. He says city officials have probably forgotten about it, since it's only gotten worse.
Flores says he's continued to report the dangerous road conditions when he checks if his cones are still there. He also parks his own car with the hazard lights on in the intersection to align the cones and warn drivers.
Flores says he's put in multiple 311 and Department of Transportation requests but hasn't gotten a response.
He says he's worried about the safety of the neighborhood's drivers and pedestrians.
