Former Assemblyman Brodsky dies of COVID-19 complications

Former Assemblyman Richard Brodsky has died due to complications of COVID-19. He was 73.
Brodsky served in the Assembly from 1983 to 2010. He twice sought the Democratic nomination for attorneys general and was twice the Democratic nominee for county executive.
Brodsky died at home in Greenburgh and is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro said he "can't imagine anyone giving this virus a bigger fight."
"The streets of heaven are indeed becoming too crowded and while we will conquer this disease - we will sadly do so with too many having left us too soon," said Molinaro.
Assembly Speaker Carl Hastie issued a statement on Brodsky's death and called him a friend and mentor.
"It was an honor to serve with him and watch as he fought, not just for his constituents, but for all New Yorkers," said Hastie. "On behalf of all his former colleagues in the Assembly, I offer our condolences to his wife and children, and their family and friends."
