Former Our Lady of Mount Carmel students accuse old basketball coach of sexual abuse

Five former students at Our Lady of Mount Carmel have filed lawsuits against the school and the Archdiocese of New York.
The students claim that former basketball coach Rudy Tremaroli sexually abused them over the span of 15 years. Tremaroli is now dead.
They also claim that school administrators and religious leaders failed to act when notified of the crime. The lawsuits were filed by Herman Law under the Child Victims Act.
The act gives victims of child sex crimes a one-year window to file claims against their attackers.
“Another alleged sexual predator exposed by the Child Victims Act -- this is why the new law is so important," says attorney Jeff Herman.
News 12 reached out to the office of the Archdiocese of New York but has not yet heard back.
