Long lines and happy customers weren’t enough for the former owners of Ample Hills Creamery last year after they filed for bankruptcy. However, it hasn’t taken them long to rebuild.
Three weeks ago, the Brooklyn couple opened The Social on Washington Avenue to offer some of their favorites.
They say they always wanted a place that families could come to. During the pandemic, they realized it was really important to have a place to be social and gather.
They serve ice cream floats and doughnuts. Owner and founder Jackie Cuscuna says customers with an extra sweet tooth can enjoy the perfect combination of both.
"What's better than a warm doughnut and two scoops of ice cream and hot fudge and homemade whipped cream,” said Cuscuna.
The staff is looking forward to taking the lessons learned from the previous business and paving a new path in ice cream making.
