A Throggs Neck church joined forces with the community to worship and share food and resources with neighbors.
The Worship Center hosted the annual Community Day and Health Fair Sunday in partnership with Choice Health Plans and the Throggs Neck Business Improvement District.
This was the sixth year for the fair, though the church says it could've been the eighth if it wasn't for the pandemic.
The event started with a morning church service before hot food was served to the community.
Free health services were offered at the fair, such as screenings for hypertension and blood glucose for people with diabetes. There were also activities for children.
The church says they expected between 300 to 400 people, and they hope for even more next year.
