Free paddling hosted by the Bronx River Alliance returns this Saturday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It's on a first come first serve basis and open to everyone ages 1 and older.
Siddhartha Sanchez, executive director of the Bronx River Alliance, says the organization has been working year-round, for the past 50 years, to restore the river.
Their efforts have made it possible for wildlife to return and allows paddling to be possible.
The organization says the bigger goal of getting people on the water is to bring awareness to the environment and how to take care of it.
