Free training helps Fordham businesses learn de-escalation tactics

Some local businesses in Fordham shared their concerns of safety in the neighborhood.

A partnership between Fordham BID, Bronx Rises Against Gun Violence (B.R.A.G.) and CUNY on the Concourse aims to teach people how to handle potentially violent and dangerous situations.
Jeremy Molina, a director at B.R.A.G, says the main takeaways are knowing how to:
  • Identify the conflict
  • Know slang terms
  • Know available resources
He says these tactics can prevent something bad from happening.
