This past summer News 12 the Bronx Sports Director Pat O'Keefe got to compete against some of the many athletes throughout the Bronx.
In part one of his three-part series, O'Keefe laced up his running shoes and hit the pavement with the Van Cortlandt Track Club, a team that's been competing in the Bronx since the 1970s.
The team of runners starts off in the same group during the first lap before splitting it up by skill level for the rest of the workout.
The Van Cortlandt Track Club accepts runners of all skill levels.
