‘Get the Good Stuff’ campaign promotes healthy eating through SNAP benefits

The city’s Health Department announced its “Get the Good Stuff” campaign Thursday – making fruits and vegetables more affordable for those who use Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
According to a news release, the program offers a dollar-for-dollar match of “eligible fruits, vegetables and beans purchased at participating supermarkets.”
For every $1 spent in SNAP benefits, shoppers get $1 added to a program loyalty card to spend on eligible foods on their next purchase.
The program is currently in three supermarkets across the city.
