Girl Scout cookies are back and thriving during the pandemic.
Sophia has moved sales to a digital platform, and the results seem to be working.
She says she sold over 1,000 cookies in a month.
The Girl Scouts launched an online cookie program years before the pandemic started.
Girl Scouts of Greater New York CEO Meridith Maskara says the sellers have learned to adapt to the new way of selling cookies.
“The girls have had this experience online and grown with that tool, and have been able now to pivot their entire program to an online platform,” Maskara says.
Parents may not be going into the office with order sheets, but they are still helping their children make sales.
Sophie says her parents are posting videos of her on Instagram asking people to buy cookies.
Maskara says all of the money from cookie sales stays local, so every box goes to support girls in New York City.
