Students and faculty at Lehman College set up a command center for “Giving Tuesday” donations to benefit its food pantry and other programs.
The pantry, which was set up by students last year, has served more than 8,000 meals to students who otherwise didn't know where they would find their next meal.
Donations are also going toward micro-grants, which funds emergency needs for students, as well as the International Learning Experience program.
Organizers saying the day means so much to the students who use the funds. They hoped to reach 300 new donors by the day’s end.
