Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday that bowling alleys in New York state can reopen Monday.
Cuomo says New York's COVID-19 numbers remain under 1% with 85,000 tests conducted Thursday and 727 positive cases reported.
The numbers pave the way for the bowling alleys to open with only 50% capacity. Every other lane must stay closed and masks must be worn. Each group must stay in its lane and cannot go to the concession stand to order food. All food orders must be placed from the lane, and the staff must deliver the food and alcohol to the group. The alleys must also have proper cleaning and disinfecting protocols in place.
Gov. Cuomo also says that low-risk cultural venues like museums and aquariums in New York City will reopen Aug. 24 with a 25% max capacity. Entrance to the venues must be staggered and face coverings are required.
As for gyms in New York, Gov. Cuomo says he will release protocols Monday.
