A budget deal has been reached in Albany.
The governor and legislative leaders announced a $212
billion fiscal plan for 2022.
The spending plan includes a record $29.5 billion in school
aid, as well as $2.1 billion for so-called excluded workers – undocumented
essential workers who have been denied federal and state pandemic relief aid.
According to Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office, the budget
also includes a first-in-the-nation plan to make broadband internet affordable,
and will legalize mobile sports betting and while implementing
comprehensive nursing home reforms.
