As New Yorkers prepare to celebrate Halloween this weekend, Gov. Kathy Hochul is cracking down on impaired driving by putting more police on patrol.
She says the increased police presence will target impaired and reckless drivers and focus on the illegal sale of alcohol to minors.
Starting today, drivers can expect to encounter sobriety checkpoints until Tuesday as law enforcement will be looking for drivers using their phones and other electronics behind the wheel.
