A family was barricaded Tuesday near Gould Park in Dobbs Ferry, Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner says.
Officers were seen on Washington and Ashford avenues, and police vehicles were seen surrounding a home.
Feiner says the family has since been released and have no injuries, and that police are checking to make sure no one else is in the home.
The Westchester County Police and Greenburgh police departments assisted in the investigation.
Sources tell News 12 the incident may have been a hoax, but police have not confirmed this.
