Greenwood Lake in Orange County has been named among the top 'best lakes' in upstate New York!
It ranked 19 out of 21 'best lakes' featured in a report in an online publication by Dominican Abroad.
Mayor Jesse Dwyer says the village and lake have seen a surge in tourism since the pandemic with people coming from New York City and New Jersey now that they are telecommuting.
"It's no surprise and it's funny that it has remained such a hidden gem all these years," said Dwyer. "It's so close to New York City. But if you really think about what Greenwood Lake has to offer, it's incredible and it's truly unique and stand out among all the state lakes."
Green Lake in Fayetteville also ranked high, coming in at number one for the 'best lake' in upstate New York.
