GROWNYC's compost program is coming to an end due to recent budget cuts.

Starting May 16, several sites in the Bronx, including the ones at the Morrisania Farmstand at McKinley Square and the Norwood Farmstand on East Gun Hill Road, will be closing.

Final days of collection will be May 16 and 17 at all Bronx sites.

The program was established in 2011 to get New Yorkers to properly dispose of food scraps through composting.
