A local group is helping keep Orthodox Jewish communities safe in the aftermath of anti-Semitic attacks throughout the tri-state area.

The Guardian Angels say they are on patrol and are ready to protect victims of hate crimes.

"Jew or gentile--we're all in this together," says Curtis Sliwa, founder and CEO of Guardian Angels. "An attack on a Jew is an attack on everyone in the city."

One of the most recent attacks happened in Crown Heights when a man entered the Chabad Lubavitch World Headquarters and threatened to shoot people inside.

Mayor Bill de Blasio spoke after that incident, but Sliwa says the community reached out to the Guardian Angels to ask for a bigger presence in the area.

Neighbors say they are grateful for the work that the group is doing for them.

"I think it's a great thing they are doing," says Michela Shvili, of Crown Heights. "I appreciate their help very much and we need as much help as we can get whether it's more security camera, more police, whatever it is we need help because it's just getting worse.

Sliwa says he doesn't think de Blasio or Gov. Cuomo are doing enough and that the Guardian Angels will patrol as long as necessary in Crown Heights, Borough Park and Williamsburg.
