An app created by a Brooklyn developer is hoping to help people meet their match in an unorthodox kind of way - mutual hatred.
The Hater app searches the immediate area to look for singles that might mutually hate one or more of 3,000 topics, such as cold weather, slow walkers and cramped subways.
Brendan Alper, of Williamsburg, came up with the idea after leaving the corporate world.
"Hater was originally a comedy sketch idea and the more I told people about it, the more I felt that there was actually kind of a need and a demand for something like this," he told News 12.
There are currently about 1,000 people in New York City taking advantage of the app. It's available to download, but the official launch will take place Valentine's Day 2017.
