Sentencing has been delayed for a fifth time in the case of a man guilty of killing his New Rochelle girlfriend. Javier Da Silva, 26, pleaded guilty in February of last year to kidnapping 24-year-old Valerie Reyes from her home. Da Silva was originally scheduled to be sentenced in May of last year. His newest sentencing date was this past Friday, but that too has been put off until Sept. 23. A federal judge says there will be no more postponements. Da Silva is expected to be sentenced to at least 30 years in prison.

Police are searching for suspects after a shooting in Poughkeepsie on Sunday around 2 p.m. near Smith Street. Police say a man was shot multiple times in the chest and legs. The victim was then rushed to the hospital in a police car and is expected to survive. Nearly two dozen shell casings were recovered near the scene. Police believe this was a targeted attack.

Flames broke out Sunday morning at a Yorktown Heights church. Officials say it started outside of the Yorktown Assembly of God and spread through the attic and above the building's sanctuary before firefighters were able to knock it down. The cause of the fire has not been released yet.
