The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for the Bronx Monday.
Kids were cooling off at the Rosedale playground in Soundview trying to beat the heat, many of them using the park's water sprinklers.
Much of the tristate area was under an excessive heat warning late last week.
The heat is expected to break Tuesday with predicted rain showers, according to News 12 meteorologists.
Wednesday remains cooler and more comfortable with sunny and dry weather returning and lasting through the end of the workweek.
