The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for all five boroughs of New York City, including the Bronx.
Friday's temperatures will be around 93 to 95 degrees, but will feel like 100 degrees, according to News 12 meteorologists.
It will be sunny today with a limited chance for rain, but it will be hazy, hot and humid.
Everyone is being urged to take precautions in the hot weather. Officials urge the use of air conditioners, staying hydrated and limiting strenuous activity. The heat is especially dangerous for those that suffer from heat or repository problems, children and the elderly.
The heat is expected to break later in the evening becoming cooler by Sunday.
There is also a potential for a multi-state national heat wave setting up for the beginning to middle of next week.
