Temperatures fall for Thursday; looking ahead to a less humid and sunny weekend in the Bronx

News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Allan Nosoff says that the sweltering humid weather will turn down a notch heading into this weekend.

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms arrive after 4 p.m. - 12 a.m. Expect a few downpours, strong to damaging winds, thunder and lots of lightning. Another isolated shower or storm is possible after 12 a.m.
NEXT: Thursday morning commute is trending drier with improving humidity throughout the day. Highs in the mid- to upper-80s. Friday will be the pick of the week with loads of sunshine, good air quality and pleasantly warm temps in the low- to mid-80s. This weekend will be very warm, slightly humid with plenty of sunshine. We'll be taking a break from the extreme heat next week with highs close or slightly above normal. TONIGHT: Storms wrap-up around midnight, with a lingering shower possible through 6AM. Lows near 73.
TOMORROW: Clouds clear for lots of sun after noon. Humidity goes down through the day. Highs near 87. Lows down to 69.
FRIDAY: Going to feel like late summer, quite refreshing. Sunny with highs around 85 and super low humidity. Lows near 68.
NEXT WEEKEND: Looking good! Plenty of sun, very warm and low humidity. Highs near 88. Lows near 72.
EARLY NEXT WEEK: Increasing chances for pop-up evening storms starting Tuesday. Otherwise remaining very warm with highs in the mid 80s. Lows near 70.
