HEAT ALERT: Extreme heat continues through first day of summer

News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Julian Seawright says the extreme heat will continue into the first day of summer on Thursday and pop-up showers are possible over the weekend.

OVERNIGHT: A few clouds, still balmy. Low temperatures in the low 70s.
THURSDAY, SUMMER BEGINS: Hot, hazy and humid with plenty of sunshine. Highs will be in the low 90s, with feel-like temperatures in the mid 90s. Lows will be in the mid to low 70s.
FRIDAY: Hot and humid to begin with clouds increasing by the afternoon. A few pop-up showers or an isolated thunderstorm are possible in the afternoon to evening. Otherwise, dry. Highs in the mid to upper 90s early in the day. Lows will be in the mid to upper 70s.
WEEKEND: Very warm for Saturday, with temperatures expected to be in the mid to upper 80s. Sunday, it will be near 90 degrees. Still hot and humid. For the weekend. Be prepared for pop-up showers and isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon to early evening.
