Thunderstorms and heavy rain started early in Brooklyn today as Tropical Storm Isaias heads toward the tri-state area.

Parts of the of the Belt Parkway are known to flood during regular rainfall, so commuters should prepare for flooding while traveling Tuesday.
Drivers should try to stay in the middle lanes to avoid heavier flooding on the outer lanes of the parkway.
As of 7 a.m., residents were heading out to the Coney Island boardwalk before the weather gets more severe.
Wind has not been a factor so far in Brooklyn, but strong gusts of up to 60 mph are expected later.
