New help point intercoms are set to open at several subway stations in the Bronx.
Four subway stations, including 231st Street, 242nd Street, 238th Street stops on the 1 line and the Wakefield stop on the 2 line, will have the intercoms installed.
The new intercoms will put the user immediately in touch with transit workers for emergencies and travel information, with just the touch of a button.
Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz allocated nearly $1 million to install the intercoms.
The MTA says it hopes to eventually have intercoms installed at every single subway station in the city.
