New York officials are working with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to ensure city bus rides are cleaner for the environment.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced a $1 billion investment for electric vehicles in an effort to reduce New York's carbon footprint and to move toward a clean energy future.
The new buses are set to arrive in 2023 and will be deployed around the city, including in Kingsbridge.
Hochul called the investment an "energy revolution." She says the buses, which are assembled in New York, will provide jobs and help the state meet its goal of reducing emissions by 85% by the year 2050.
