After several days of long road trips, parties and Fourth of July barbeques, many New Yorkers used the last day of vacation for a relaxing day at the pool.

Many at the Bushwick Community Pool said that their holiday festivities started on Thursday, so a day at the pool on the last day before returning to work seemed warranted.

Some were swimming laps, while others stayed on the pool deck and played games.

Park officials say that there were fewer people at the pool on Monday than on other days. As of 3 p.m., there were only 40 attendees at the pool. Other days there have been several hundred. Staff tell News 12 that they believe that many went to the beach instead.

The community pool hours run from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. The season runs through Sept. 12.
