House Democratic Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi visited a senior residence in Riverdale today to discuss the issues facing older generations.
A packed room greeted Pelosi to the Hebrew Home as she toured the space and talked about the future of our seniors.
Pelosi toured the facility with Rep. Eliot Engel and other officials to see how the center cares for the city's elderly -- from assisted living programs to specialized services and memory care.
Pelosi, who tours senior homes nationwide, says she is inspired by what she saw today, and says other states can learn from the model.
Residents say protecting social security, Medicare, and preventing elder abuse are just some of the other big challenges senior citizens face.
