New York City residents should keep in mind important safety tips during Wednesday's mix of hot temperatures and muggy conditions.
Before heading out the door, check off a list of needed items such as sunglasses, a water bottle and sunscreen.
Temperatures are in the 90s on Wednesday, so do not leave kids or pets in a car. Even 10 minutes can prove to be fatal as the internal temperatures of kids and animals heat up faster than adults, according to AAA.
For dog walks, keep in mind the heat of the pavement since it'll feel hotter than the day's official temperature reading. The hot pavement has potential to damage their paws.
