Hunts Point Market gearing up for major changes

Officials say the funding will also effort the continued economic development that will help to secure more union jobs in the Bronx community.

Members of the Bronx Assembly Delegation and elected officials came together on Friday to announce the $130 million grant for the Hunts Point Market’s modernization efforts.
Officials say the funding will effort the continued economic development that will help to secure more union jobs in the Bronx community while making 21st-century changes that will stabilize the local food chain.
The food distributed from Hunts Point Market makes its way to nearly 23,000 restaurants and thousands of homes across the tri-state area.
Elected officials stressed that revitalizing the source of what they say keeps the community fed will only send a ripple effect of more needed changes in the community.
