HV man provides homeless children with clothing

A Hudson Valley man is helping provide homeless children in New York with clothing – one sock at a time.
Jay Mota started the Building Blocks Foundation in South Nyack two years ago.
He says that in 2008, he lost everything and for a time, he was homeless.
"Had it not been for those people who helped me out, things could have been very different for me,” he says.
Since 2008, he built his life back as an investment advisor and decided it was his turn to give back to the community. He thought about providing school lunches, but realized the thousands of kids really needed socks and underwear.
This year, Building Blocks had the help of corporate foundations, including from Allstate, Bombas and Amazon to provide tens of thousands of socks and underwear to send to P.S. 463 in the Bronx.
Mota says one in five children there are homeless.
