A Bronx mother is demanding justice for her son, Michael Hernandez Jr., who police said was fatally stabbed on Friday night in Brooklyn. “I’m broken hearted, and I'm trying to stay strong for my daughter, for my family,” said Marisol Miranda, the victim’s mother. “I just want answers.” Police said the 27-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen around 9 p.m. near Barclays Center in Downtown Brooklyn. Investigators told News 12 a large group gathered outside the Atlantic Terminal Mall prior to the stabbing, and multiple people ran from the scene. Police said Hernandez was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. “I feel like they ripped him from me,” Miranda said. “No matter how hard this is, he didn’t deserve to die like this, and I just want justice for him.” Miranda said she saw her son in the Bronx that afternoon, just seven hours before his death. “I said to him, ‘I love you, papi. I’m so proud of you. You’re becoming a good man,'”Miranda said. “He said, ‘Mom, I’m going to Brooklyn.’ I said, ‘OK, baby. Just be careful.” Miranda told News 12 Saturday that Hernandez was raised in The Bronx and lived in Brooklyn. He loved technology and music. “No one’s perfect, but he was a good guy,” Miranda said. “He was loving. He had a heart of gold, and he just didn’t deserve to die.” The grieving mother said she has no idea who killed her son, but she had a message for them. “Take responsibility for what they did to my son,” Miranda said. “I want them to pay for what they did.” Police said, as of Saturday night, no arrests had been made and they’re searching for multiple attackers. Police ask anyone with information to give them a call.
