In-person early voters are turning out in record numbers, with 252,312 voters casting ballots as of Friday, according to the New York City Board of Elections.
Early voting numbers surpassed the previous primary election back in 2021 by just over 50% of in-person voters turning out.
In the race for mayor, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo continues to lead in the polls, while Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani is quickly narrowing the gap in second place, according to a Siena College poll.
In the Bronx, 19,558 voters casted ballots on the seventh day of early voting, according to the Board of Elections. Voters told News 12 top issues include the affordability crisis, housing issues and public safety.
"It's necessary that we find the best person for everyone," said Renia Rodriguez, from Soundview.
Early voting polls are open through Sunday June 22. Polls will reopen on June 24 from 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. for primary election day.
