Residents in Longwood are frustrated with the city's late response to their community's trash problem.
Neighbors say trash lined the length of the sidewalk and towers on Simpson Street. They say the trash ranges from toys to refrigerators and more.
"If you walk down the street it smells like vomit and diapers over there," says Angel Lewis. "So this is what you gotta deal with when you live over there."
Some employees at local businesses say the trash came from empty businesses on the block.
Others in the neighborhood say it hurts the image of the neighborhood and they've had enough.
"I'm moving because I can't deal with it anymore," says Brandon Mercado.
Other neighbors say they've been complaining for over a month and finally have been heard.
The NYC Sanitation Department was on the scene this week to clear the block on Simpson Street of all its trash.
