Members of the Jewish community gathered outside the New York Supreme Court to call for an end to hate crimes across the city.
This event comes the same day defendants were due in court for the assault of Joey Borgan, a Jewish man who was attacked in May 2021.
In 2022, the NYPD reported 261 antisemitic incidents, an increase compared to the 196 incidents reported in 2021.
Participants at the rally urged the Department of Justice and elected officials like Gov. Kathy Hochul to do more to address the issue.
