New Rochelle's NAACP branch asks governor to appoint AG to investigate officer-involved shooting: The New Rochelle branch of the NAACP is calling for action after the police-involved shooting death of Kamal Flowers. Members of that group are calling on the governor to appoint the state attorney general as special prosecutor. The community held a news conference on the steps of New Rochelle City Hall calling on Gov. Andrew Cuomo to appoint Attorney General Letitia James to investigate the police-involved deadly shooting of Flowers, who was 24 years old. 

Done deal: Gov. Murphy approves toll hikes for 3 major highways: Tolls will increase on three of New Jersey’s major highways in September. Gov. Phil Murphy’s office confirmed the increase on Wednesday. Murphy signed the meeting minutes on May 27, the same day the boards that operate the highways approved the increases for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and South Jersey Transportation Authority.The increases will take effect Sept. 13. Tolls would rise by 36% on the Turnpike, meaning the average trip that now costs $3.50 would rise to $4.80. 

CT attorney general leads multi-state lawsuit against generic drug companies: Connecticut's Attorney General William Tong is leading the charge in a multi-state lawsuit against the manufacturers of some generic drugs. Tong stated in the lawsuit that patients overpaid by tens of billions of dollars for dozens of common skin creams and shampoos."Competitors were talking to each other in real-time; exchanging information on prices so that they could artificially inflate prices," says Tong.
