A back-to-school drive was held Sunday in honor of a man who was fatally shot in Flatbush two years ago.
Justin Hackley was shot and killed on Ocean Avenue in 2017, but his memory still lives on in the community.
Friends and family handed out backpacks and school supplies to dozens of Brooklyn students as part of the Justin Hackley Foundation.
The event was held in collaboration with Thredz Boutique and Talk Money Entertainment.
Organizers say they want to ensure that no child will go to their first day of school without the supplies they need to succeed.
They say they're taking the pain they feel from Hackley's death and trying to turn it into positivity.
