The suspect in the fatal shooting of a Bayonne teenager in 2024 will be tried as an adult, prosecutors announced Tuesday.

John Dominguez was 17 when he was found unresponsive in a Bayonne apartment on July 21, 2024.

Jersey City resident Ramel Johnson, now 19, was arrested in connection to Dominguez's death. He was 17 at the time of the shooting.

Johnson's case has been waived up to criminal court and he will be prosecuted as an adult.

He was charged with manslaughter and other weapons charges, according to prosecutors.

Medical examiners determined Dominguez's death to be from a gunshot wound to the chest.
